Challenger Parts- Not Easily Available

by Tom S Powers

The Dodge line of vehicles has long been a successful part of the Daimler Chrysler company. Dodge has distinguished itself in the world of racing with some excellent race cars. Not only has it provided quality products for races, it has done the same with the cars, pickup trucks, 4-door sedans, and heavy-duty vehicles that ordinary people use. The Dodge production line has a good reputation for producing consistently high quality cars and trucks down through the years.

Realizing the profits available in the growing automotive market, the Dodge brothers started their own automobile manufacturing company. Their vehicle proved a commercial success while the Dodge brothers reigned. However, the brand suffered notable failures after the company was bought and managed by the Chrysler Corporation.

Dodge cars, which are a part of Daimler Chrysler Company, are still famous for their features. Some of the popular cars of this company are Daimler Chrysler Company,Viper, Stratus, Neon, Dodge Avenger,Ram, Intrepid, Sprinter,Dakota, Magnum, and a few others. Dodge still manufactures cars that show the true interest of a famous car maker. To ride the Dodge is similar to enjoying life.

While Dodge was the last of the United States' car makers to enter the so-called pony car market, the Dodge Challenger was definitely worth the wait. The Challenger was released by Chrysler's Dodge division and was an immediate hit, both among reviewers and the general public. It was based on the same E-body platform as the Plymouth Barracuda, but it had its wheelbase extended by two inches and different sheet metal was used.

In 1970, the year it was introduced, Dodge Challenger parts gained 80,000 sales. Despite this success, Dodge Challenger parts didn't escape the criticisms thrown by the press. Plus, the pony car market was already on its last legs when the Challenger arrived. These are the reasons why Challenger lasted only for five years. After 1974 model year, the production of Dodge Challenger finally ended. Over Dodge Challenger's lifetime, there are 165,500 units sold.

There were a variety of engine choices produced for the Dodge Challenger. The Trans Am, a famous Challenger model manufactured in 1970 only, was a racing homolgation car that had a Six-Pack version of the 340 cubic inch (5.6L) engine that was specially tuned. Challenger T/A has a lift off hood made of fiberglass and a giant hood scoop with 'megaphone' exhaust ports installed towards the back of the vehicle in front of the rear wheels.

Through 1971 model year, Dodge Challengers are available on either hardtop coupes or convertibles. Its performance model called the R/T or Road/Track is offered in both body styles. The available options were a limited slip differential, manual transmission, engines, steeper rear axle ratios, shaker scoop, leather seats, vinyl roof and a smaller "formal" rear window. In 08-09 parts challenger has launched again however these new challenger Dodge parts are not easily available.

Racing vehicles and heavy duty trucks are among the points of pride that Dodge is known for. As part of the Daimler Chrysler Company, Dodge's race vehicles are well cared for. When it comes to racing, Dodge has been in the spotlight a number of times, proving they are one of the best choices to leave competitors in the dust. Over its short lifespan, the Dodge Challenger sold 165,000 units by the time it was discontinued in 1974. Now, the line of challenger parts, including the 08-09 parts challenger, has been re-introduced. But these new challenger dodge parts are still hard to find.
