Shows for Theatergoers in Blackpool

by Trevor Sinclair

Going on vacation to Blackpool to see the festival of lights, but want something else to do while you're there? Why not go to the Blackpool Winter Gardens and see one of the many Blackpool shows on offer? If you've never been, it could make for a fun and interesting experience.

The Winter Gardens is the home of the Blackpool opera house and it is divided into different types of rooms with different features. The Empress Ballroom has a capacity of 1000 guests to 3000 guests under its vaulted ceilings and crystal chandeliers. Depending on the organization hosted, usage of the room is changing like concerts and banquets to political conventions.

The Empress Ballroom is attached to the Arena. This is a room with a lot of different uses. Space for up to 600 people can be provided if your group requires a small to medium sized room. This room can even be made completely dark, if that is a need you have.

Blackpool Winter Gardens also hosts a variety of conventions, symposiums, and banquets every year in the Olympia, the Renaissance, the Baronial Hall, and the Spanish Hall, each with a capacity of several hundred people, depending on the event, and up to thousands in some rooms if standing room is all that's needed.

The Horseshoe is a spacious exhibition arena that offers access to the Olympia. The Pavilion Theater, located in the center of the Horseshoe, is a dedicated theater with ornate elegance that makes it an attractive place for holding business meetings. With a seating capacity of only 600, it also offers an intimate setting for Blackpool shows.

The Gardens also homes the UK's largest dedicated theater, the Opera House and has a capacity of almost 3000 people including box and balcony seats. The stage has hosted world famous celebrities like Bob Hope, Judy Garland, and Frank Sinatra, and several West End productions played again as Blackpool shows.

The Festival of Lights, along with many other tourist attractions near by, make this site the perfect location. Since tourism is such a huge part of the economy, there are a ton of different enternainment options within walking distance.

If you were planning on attending Blackpool shows during the festival of lights celebration, there are other things you can do there as well. The Blackpool Opera House is a beautiful place to visit during your vacation and can enhance your whole experience. This stage has been host to many famous names. The Opera House is on the grounds of Blackpool Winter Gardens. There are so many possibilities for fun and entertainment to be found on this site at this time. The site is available throughout the year, however, it is especially full of information during the festival of lights.
