The kind of affiliate program that you choose to have is wholly up to the affiliate manager of the business. This person will fix the percentage, or flat rate that they will pay for a sale or a lead. Whatever technique and promotion that you select to use is entirely up to you.

Choosing the affiliate marketing programs that you want to sell is not hard. Select something that you know about, and that you can be known as an expert about. The more passionate you are about the service or product, the better, as it will shine through. However, I've sold many affiliate products and services that I knew little to nothing about. Most marketers can do a modium some research and become an expert or at least more knowledgeable in short time.

Be sure to pick someone that not just talks the talk, but has walked the walked. There are many online so called gurus who state they are the expert in affiliate marketing, but have yet to make serious money.
